This commandment comes with a promise. Honoring your parents doesn't mean agreeing with everything they do — it means treating them with respect and dignity. Even imperfect parents are worth honoring.

How have you been treating your parents lately? Is there something you owe them — an apology, more respect, a thank you?

Prayer

God, help me honor my parents even when it's hard. Give me a heart that is grateful, not resentful. Amen.
