The Joy of the LordNehemiah 8:10
No. 55
Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.Nehemiah 8:10

Joy is different from happiness. Happiness depends on circumstances, but joy is rooted in the unchanging character of God. Even in trials, we can experience joy because we know God is faithful, His promises are true, and our ultimate destiny is secure. The joy of the Lord is not a forced smile — it is a deep well of strength.

Reflect

Where are you relying on circumstances to produce happiness rather than drawing from God's joy as your source of strength?

Prayer

Father, fill me with Your joy. When life is hard, remind me that my strength comes from You. Let joy be my anchor. Amen.
