The Covenant of SaltNumbers 18:19
No. 319
It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the LORD for both you and your offspring.Numbers 18:19

Salt in the ancient Near East was used to seal the most permanent agreements. A covenant of salt meant it was unbreakable, permanent, impossible to dissolve. God's covenant with His people — and with you through Christ — is a covenant of salt. It cannot be undone.

Reflect

How does the permanence and irrevocability of God's covenant with you affect how you live and what you fear?

Prayer

Lord, Your covenant with me is sealed. Permanent. I rest in the unbreakable nature of Your commitment to me. Amen.
