May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.Galatians 6:14

Paul says the cross changed his relationship to the world — it was crucified to him. The applause, the status, the accumulation — it lost its grip. The cross makes the world's prizes look cheap. When you boast in the cross, everything else loses its power over you.

What is the world currently offering you that still has too much grip on your heart?

Prayer

Lord, let the cross so transform my values that the world's prizes lose their pull. I boast in nothing but You. Amen.
