Wages are earned. Gifts are given. You earned one thing from your life before Christ — death. God gave you something completely unearned — life. That's the most important economic transaction in the universe, and it cost God everything and cost you nothing.

Reflect

Do you treat salvation more like wages you've worked for, or a gift you've received? How does that show up in how you live?

Prayer

Father, thank You for the gift I could never earn. Eternal life — free, complete, permanent. I receive it with gratitude. Amen.
