Gates are defensive structures. Gates don't attack — they hold. Jesus is saying the church is on offense. Hell is not advancing on the church. The church is advancing on the gates of hell — and they will not hold. You are on the winning side of history.

Reflect

Do you live like someone on the offensive or the defensive? What would bold, gate-crashing faith look like in your life?

Prayer

Lord, remind me that I'm on offense. Your church advances and the gates of hell cannot hold. Give me that courage. Amen.
