The Spirit you received does not make you a slave, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."Romans 8:15

Abba is an Aramaic term of family intimacy — like Daddy. The Spirit doesn't make you a religious performer trying to earn approval. He makes you a child who can run to the Father. That changes everything about how you relate to God.

Reflect

Do you relate to God more like a servant trying to earn favor, or like a child who knows they belong? What would the shift feel like?

Prayer

Abba, Father — I call You that. Not because I've earned it, but because Your Spirit has made me Your child. Amen.
