A Broken and Contrite HeartPsalm 51:17
No. 176My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.Psalm 51:17
David wrote this after his greatest failure. He'd lost everything worth presenting to God — and he offers the one thing God actually wants: honesty about the wreckage. God never turns away from genuine brokenness. It's the most powerful prayer posture there is.
Reflect
Are you carrying a failure or sin you've been afraid to bring to God in full honesty? Bring it. He will not despise a contrite heart.
Prayer
Lord, here is my broken heart. I don't hide the mess. I offer it to You knowing You won't turn away. Amen.
