This, then, is how you should pray: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name."Matthew 6:9
Jesus teaches prayer not as a ritual to perform but as a relationship to inhabit. The address alone is revolutionary: Our Father. Not a distant deity — a dad. The most powerful Being in the universe and He wants to be called Father.
Pray through each line of the Lord's Prayer slowly today. Don't rush it. Let each phrase actually mean something.
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation. Deliver us from evil. Amen.
