Jesus says this to a church that was doctrinally correct, morally upright, and hardworking — but had lost its first love. You can do all the right things with a cold heart. The fire of first love can go out quietly while everything looks fine from the outside.

Reflect

Think back to when your relationship with God was most alive. What was present then that is missing now?

Prayer

Lord, restore my first love. Reignite the fire. I don't want right behavior without a burning heart. Amen.
